Floral Design Class: Take-Home Bouquet

In our Fundamentals class (which yes, I am taking after the Advanced class, but they were offered out of order!) we practiced cutting with our floral knives this week and got to create a take-home bouquet that we wrapped in tissue and cellophane.  I had a weird mix of flowers in my bouquet, but I don't know, I kind of like it.  The poor sunflower and hydrangea were nearing their end, but the combined colors of the dalia, larkspur, and spray roses had a cool effect.  I also got to use some bupleurum greens.  I really love the look of these and I will seek them out when I get brave and venture out to the San Francisco Flower Market.

Sunday Dinner

Last weekend my boyfriend's Mom invited us over for some burgers at her house and I had plenty of flowers left over from the farmer's market.  My boyfriend's five-year-old nephew said that "he liked them," and quizzically asked if they were real.  I like a five-year-old that appreciates flowers.

Weekend Farmer's Market: Summer Arrangement

Another weekend trip to the farmer's market and supporting the local flower cause.  I cannot take credit for the combination of these flowers because I purchased them as pre-picked bunches of flowers.  I like the wildflower, rainbow effect they all have together.

And when I woke up in the mornings I got to see these lovely colors.  And Domo, of course.
